Cincinnati Sigmas Continue Partnership with Local Charity for the Holiday Season

The Alumni Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. will be hosting the “Live to Give Holiday Jam” on Friday, December 12 at the Sharonville Holiday Inn from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.  This event is being held to raise money for the Adopt-a-Family program sponsored by St. Vincent De Paul Charities.  This will be the third consecutive year the Sigmas will be joining St. Vincent de Paul in their efforts.

This holiday season, St. Vincent De Paul hopes to help 350 families through its Adopt-a-Family program.  They bring hope to the front line of poverty, with more than 900 parish volunteers visiting the homes of neighbors in need to provide innovative, practical emergency assistance.  St. Vincent de Paul has served residents for more than 145 years.

“On Christmas morning, all parents want nothing more than their children to have presents under the tree,” says Matt Flege, Strategic Initiative Manager for St. Vincent de Paul.  “When you adopt a family, you are not only bringing joy of Christmas to a child, but giving the gift of hope to families in need.  We can’t thank Phi Beta Sigma enough for being a blessing to the families we serve.”

Brother Dan Davis, the chapter’s Social Action Chairman, has spearheaded our relationship with St. Vincent de Paul for the third consecutive year.  “The smiles and tears that have been shared with us by the families continue to uplift our spirits and allow us to appreciate the joy of giving. We have been truly blessed and can’t say enough good things about our adopt-a-family experiences.”

Tickets for the event are $15 per person, or $25 for two.  The event will include the music and a cash bar.  Raffle tickets and door prizes will also be available.  The Sharonville Holiday Inn is located at 3855 Hauck Road.  Contact Bro. Robert White at 513.885.0021 with questions, or click HERE to purchase tickets.
